Royal Decree : Choosing Peace Over Toxic Loyalty
The irony of loyalty,
I have known for a while now,
However, the days of this year kept adding insult to injury.
The way people call you names,
That makes you think they are “ride or die?”
You would revise after you watch them carefully.
So I say to you, watch!
That is one thing I did mostly this year;
Then I decided that as always,
I would choose tranquillity.
See, i decided to speak my mind and not harbour feelings.
I didn’t think people’s acts were that important to keep inside of me.
I decided not to react to all that I found out,
Mostly because a close friend I respect told me to mostly ignore!
My best friend would say,
“You’re living for two now
Only react when you absolutely need to”
That’s how come a lot of people,
Didn’t know I knew
Perhaps they thought I could not do anything,
Knowing they were the source of the badmouth.
Some went through tooth and nail,
Just to destroy the bonds I had with very good people,
At work,in church,at home.
The said people they were trying to rewire
Kept asking why these people had these energies towards me?
I mostly just smile,
Then let them know it’s nature.
A lot of the people who knew these things
Did not get why i was calm.
Some even thought,
“Could it have been that there is some truth in the stories?”
I rested on some quotes;
“Whatever you hear about me,it’s true, believe it.”
“It would be in your best interest to avoid me,I am not a good person,”
“If you’re convinced,I won’t try to change your mind,”
“Your first reaction is mostly my answer,”
“If I argue,I care…if I go quiet, I am done,”
“There is a reason God sends me closer to people.”
I am not looking to live 100 years,
I only seek to live the way it has been ordained for me to.
If I lose my way,
I hope I get back in line quickly.
There is too much I need to do,
I do not have time for gossip and ill minded folk.
I choose my peace and I live it.
