Songs of Silence

There comes a time in a man’s life

When footsteps fade into the dust,

And time no longer bends tick after tock

There comes a day in a man’s life

When the sun holds its breath,

Suspended in the silence of waiting.

There comes a moment in a man’s life

When thoughts dissolve like mist,

And the soul seeks its haven.

But there will come a rising,

A soft call through the stillness,

Where life folds into life,

And the unseen becomes the eternal.

Because, in every man’s life,

The ending is but a turning,

And the silence—only the start of the song.
