Three Ways To Breathe

I saw life
not straight
not the same
it kept changing clothes

*

one day

it wore rags
the poor called it life

they said.
“we move”

even when nothing moves

they smiled small
saved big dreams
inside tired bodies

**

another day

it wore perfume
the rich called it life

they said
“we deserve more”

their plates were full
their hearts
still asking

***

then

life became quiet
the sick held it carefully

like something that could break
they said little

but their eyes shouted

“please”

****

and me

I kept watching

same life
different voices

same world
different weight

I am still asking

which one is true

or

are they all

?
